Is 750review.com a Scam or Legit?

Opportunities to earn something online are filled with scammers at every step of the way. Thus, when people saw 750review.com claiming to offer free Walmart gift cards, they wondered whether it was legit or a scam.

As the name suggests, 750review.com claims users can fill in their details to win a “$750 Walmart Gift Card.” However, many wonder if this is true and whether 750review.com is a scam. Let’s find out, shall we?

Is 750review.com a Cleverly Disguised Phishing Scam?

A phishing scam is a trick that gets users to hand over their details to scammers. It comes in many different forms but the most common trick is to incentivize the offers. Thus, when you land on 750review.com, you wonder, what’s the reason behind this generous offer? Why would a complete stranger suddenly feel generous to offer you this much? As they say, when a deal is too good, think twice.

Once you click “Start Review” on their website, you will be redirected to Financial Assistance USA which has different products ranging from savings to credit and insurance.

This is quite contrary to what they had initially stated on their website as the steps to take to earn the free gift card. Here is a look at the steps given;

  • Click the link below
  • Enter your email & basic info
  • Complete the product survey
  • Complete recommended deals
  • Receive your gift card

750review.com Customer Feedback

On Trustpilot, I noticed a lot of feedback which got me curious. Most of the reviews are positive, with the getting not less than 3 stars on all their reviews with most consumers giving them a 5-star rating.

However, when I checked the actual reviews, I was stunned to see the reviews were for Walmart and not 750review.com. The reviews also followed a certain theme, they all claim to have been shopping at Walmart with some claiming their staff were rude.

It also looks like most of their reviews were added in May and June 2024 which is highly unusual for most websites. In many cases, the reviews are spread across multiple months unless they are somehow manipulated.

Relatively New Website

When I checked on Whois and ScamAdviser, I was stunned to see that 750review.com was only registered in May 2024. Although this does not necessarily mean it's a scam, it does little to boost user confidence.

How to Spot a Survey Phishing Scam

Phishing scams often trick people by offering fake rewards, like winning a gift card for completing a survey. Here’s how you can spot and avoid these scams to keep your information safe:

Too-Good-to-Be-True Offers

If a website claims you can win a high-value gift card for minimal effort, be suspicious. Scammers often use enticing offers to lure you in. As the saying goes, "When a deal is too good, think twice."

Redirects to Unrelated Sites

If you click on a link and it redirects you to a different website, especially one unrelated to the original offer, it's a red flag. On 750review.com, clicking "Start Review" takes you to Financial Assistance USA, which is unrelated to Walmart gift cards.

Unusual Steps to Claim Reward

Scammers often provide complicated steps to make the process seem legitimate. If you see steps like entering personal info, completing various deals, and then supposedly receiving a reward, be cautious. Legitimate offers are usually straightforward.

Inconsistent Customer Reviews

Check reviews on trusted sites like Trustpilot. If reviews seem unrelated to the actual service or product, or if they appear manipulated (like having many similar reviews in a short period), it's likely a scam. 750review.com had reviews that were actually for Walmart and were suspiciously clustered in a short timeframe.

Bottom Line: Is 750review.com a Scam?

Overall, there is a high possibility that 750review.com may be a scam. The site promises a $750 Walmart gift card but redirects users to unrelated sites and demands multiple steps that seem designed to collect personal information. The customer reviews are inconsistent and appear manipulated, with many being irrelevant and clustered within a short period. Additionally, the website's recent registration date adds to the suspicion. Always exercise caution with offers that seem too good to be true, and follow best practices to protect yourself from phishing scams.
